Integris Partners recently advised Boa Technology Inc., the creator of the patented, award-winning Boa® Closure System, on its recent recapitalization. Boa Technology, based in Denver, Colorado, is known for its “Dialed In For Life” reel-based closures that improve the performance and fit of footwear and equipment in snowboarding, biking, golf, hiking, and many other sports, as well as in utility and work boots, medical products, protective helmets, and numerous other applications. The transaction, the most recent of a number of consumer-product engagements completed by Integris, was sponsored by Glenbrook Consumer Partners and Boa Technology management.

“As we set out on this process, we knew that we wanted to find the absolute right partner to help us in our continued development, and to do so in a transaction that recognizes the value of what our team has built,” said Gary Hammerslag, Founder and Chairman of Boa Technology. “The process that Integris ran delivered both, and met our high expectations. We couldn’t be happier with the overall result.”

Mark Soderberg, Boa Technology President and CEO, added,“Boa’s strong growth in newer areas such as medical and utility, combined with its roots in snow sports and other outdoor sectors, makes us very excited about the future. But we also know that growth brings new challenges, and we were looking for a private equity partner that had helped a variety of branded consumer-product companies meet these sorts of challenges before. With their prior investment experience, as well as their affinity for recreational products, Glenbrook is truly a great partner for us. And we are very pleased with how we got there – Integris gave us great advice and great options to consider at every stage of the process.”

Since 2001, Boa Technology (www.BoaTechnology.com) has been developing and marketing lightweight, high-performance precision closure systems that provide numerous improvements over laces, straps, buckles and other traditional means of closure. Boa products are found in footwear and other gear marketed by leading companies based in the United States and in numerous countries around the world, including K2 Snowboards, FootJoy, Smith Optics, The North Face, Red Wing, 3M, TrekSta and over a hundred other brands.
