Integris Partners recently advised Leisure Trends Group (LTG) of Boulder, CO on the sale of its retail tracking and consumer research businesses to NPD Group of Port Washington, NY. This represents the latest in a long series of transactions in the outdoor industry on which Integris has advised.

LTG is the leader in retail market intelligence for the sports and recreation industries, tracking and analyzing point-of-purchase data from retailers across a wide range of specialty formats including regional and national sporting goods and outdoor chains, independents, and online merchants. This data covers sectors such as cycling, paddle sports, running, ski, snowboard, camping, hiking, climbing, performance outerwear, sportswear and footwear, amongst others. In addition, the company operates the Most Active Americans Panel (over 2 million individuals) as part of its consumer research division. By acquiring LTG, NPD has dramatically grown its outdoor/sports business, with the combination covering 26,000 retail doors, and providing the most comprehensive sales information in the industry to retailers and brand owners.

In a separate but related transaction, Integris also advised LTG on the sale of its Customer Relationship Marketing division, now named Ascent CRM. Ascent aggregates data from a variety of sources to give companies in the same outdoor industries (plus hospitality) a full picture of their customers and thus interact with them, build loyalty, target product development, and find new customers.

Joy Spring, owner of LTG, said “Integris was absolutely key to making this all happen. In addition to their help in achieving a great result for me personally and a tremendous new home with NPD for our staff and customers, I knew I was in safe hands throughout this process. Integris positioned LTG well, their team was always available, and they skillfully navigated me through the details of my first-time business sale.”
